In my neighborhood there is a blackboard on the wall, in the alley. Every main alley has one. This is where someone writes important messages to the residents, like, "Be polite to your neighbors. Don't spit in the alley. Practice unconditional love and compassion."
You hear a jingle bell. Walk outside. Turn right. Dump your garbage on the cement.
