Just get to the Verb...

Greetings,

"Just get to the verb," said Robert Altman, the late great maverick film director. It was mentioned at a recent tribute in Manhattan and covered by David Carr from the NYT. The link is below.

"Yeah, let's not do that," was another well known Altman phrase. He directed
"M-A-S-H," "Nashville," "McCabe and Mrs. Miller," "The Player," "Gosford Park," "The Gingerbread Man," "Dr. T & The Women," and his last film, "A Prairie Home Companion."

"I eat writers for breakfast," he said upon meeting the cartoonist Gary Trudeau. Delicious.

...Changing notes, if you're into jazz, feel free to check out: TATI with Enrico Rava, Paul Motian and Stefano Bollani, METHANY MEHLDAU with Pat Methany on guitar and Brad Mehldau on piano, and LONTANO by the Tomasz Stanko Quartet.

Peace.

Resilience

Greetings,

Ah, such a long fine spell of rain, mist covered mountains, fresh air. Perfect prose potential mud excavation explorations in drizzle.

"Words get in the way," she said after hitting her "save" key. "Words are keys. We wander through conversational labryinths testing doors. Doors of perception open in every direction. Entrances and exits. Integration and individuality. Being an outsider is liberating."

"Yes, he said. "This is about trust, love and abundance. It’s about resilience."

"The people who are most resilient have a learning reaction, not a victim reaction to bad events,” a woman in a white lab coat reflected in her mirror called Beauty.

“The question is,” said her professor lover calmly adjusting his verbal space pace, “do they have a learning-coping reaction or a victim-blaming reaction?”

"We'll see when they speak from the heart-mind, their tzu-chan."

Peace.

Imperial Hog

Greetings,

The Year of the Pig waddles forward. A young boy carries a pig head on a platter down stairs, out the door and places it over smoldering slow burning compressed cooking coal. The pig sees an orange circle sun rise through blue clouds over green mountains. Fresh snout air. Another beautiful day in pig paradise.

Families blast fireworks, chop veggies, gut fish, pluck duck, chickens, slice and dice.

Peace.

Yurt keys

Greetings,

MK 32 is up for your listening pleasure, as always. It begins, "Once upon a time there was a web site called Journeys and on this web site were podcasts called Middle Kingdom..." and the audio story continues from there.

Meanwhile, the campus hums with silence, local women chop down red flowers and old men fish in the lake. Fireworks boom, blast and brilliant the sky nightly as the Spring Festival slinks it's way toward the 18th.

If you love crowds now's the perfect time to be moving through transit points in China jostling and shoving your way with millions of humans. Pickpocket thieves sing, "Getting to know you..."

Peace.

Heart

Greetings,

Ah, such a heart day. Work like you don't need the money, dance like nobody's looking and love like your heart's never been broken.

Peace.
